It is Happy Birthday to Omar{Farmer Man} today too. We had a get together for him and had traditional New Year's Day food. Black eyed peas,turnip greens and hog jaw.
I made corn bread muffins to go with it, sweet tea and we had cherry cobbler Dianna made. We also had another cherry cream cheese pie which he likes but he asked ,where was the pecan pie? We had way too many desserts. Carol made a wonderful pumpkin pie and Dianna made another pie---chocolate pecan, like a fudge pie with chocolate chips and pecans. I guess someday I need to make a family recipe book--Well maybe this year of 2010.
Can't believe ten years have gone so fast. Remember all the talk about everything collapsing when it was turning the year 2000. People even stored food and did some strange things---well we are still here. But this year might be when Christ returns.
We just have to be ready for whatever happens.
Omar has been pretty confused through all the Holidays but i just assure him I am here to help him find his way around. He goes most everywhere I go now even to church. I hope for a good year in the year 2010 and asking God to just lead me in the way he would have me to go.
I made a Smile Box but couldn't post it for some reason.
Love and have a wonderful New Year,
Marie{aunt maria}
