The summer has gone so quickly. All the greatgrand kids are back to school. They didn't get to spend much time here on the farm this summer, I missed that.
My new chicks for this year are starting to lay, they are all grown up now. I hope to have about 20 layers. I do have a problem though---HAWKS. The hawks are pretty but I wish I knew how to keep them away from my chicks and other birds.
This is a picture my grandson did in 1985--We all like chickens.

To make a cherry tart.

I have a cherry tree that is almost 15 yrs old and this year it is full of cherries.
They are small but delicious.

Bounty on cherry tree.

A picture in nature.

This large chicken snake was having lunch in a nest full of hen eggs. The hen was watching and acting a little strange. The nest was hidden in the weeds at the side of the road.
Well we know that chicken snakes like eggs and baby chicks if they find them. This is a picture of mother nature at a first hand view. Angela took the picture at her farm
with the cell phone.
